uhhh well ok she officially starts working full-time as a teacher while he’s in his junior year, i thought maybe he takes her English class in junior year and he starts developing a crush on her then but doesn’t take any action cause his birthday is like at the end of the year in May so he’d be going into his senior year of hs as a legal adult. so he’d definitely decide to start making moves on her after that because he’s self-aware and doesn’t want to get her into too much trouble lmfao

he signs up to be in her Creative Writing class in senior year even though he has plenty of credits and doesn’t really need to and it’s more of like, an elective?

it would definitely be most decisive for him to “turn on the charm” after he turns 18, maybe at the end of his junior year, and continuing after summer in the Creative Writing class.

for all of his writing assignments, he would be mostly writing romantic poems or stories that vaguely allude to her, her appearance, her mannerisms, etc. just like kind of using her as his muse for all of his journals and flirting with her through assignments but she doesn’t get the hint until he starts getting more bold.

(i’m not sure how canon i wanna make this picture because since her bday is in May this would be more timeline-friendly if he did this as a junior in her english class cause i didn’t really start thinking about the logistics of this i just needed some kind of special occasion that he would use as an excuse to give her roses) ANYWAY

he would have his lunch in her classroom (they have the same lunch hour so her classroom is empty during that time) and spend time with her after school for “extra tutoring” occasionally, which is when she starts to see through the charade because his writing is just fine, he doesn’t struggle with anything technical like grammar or spelling at all, and when she starts getting suspicious of his intentions that’s when he starts getting more serious about letting his feelings be known and really trying to “court” her

at that point they’ve talked a bunch and are very friendly with each other and he’s vaguely aware of the cracks in her marriage (even though she tries really hard not to talk about it). he notices right away that she’s being neglected by her husband who is always, always away on work and not reciprocal to her affectionate and loving nature at all. they share a fondness for romance and romanticism in general, and she loves his writing because it helps her escape the sad reality of her listless and passionless marriage. she doesn’t realize until things start getting serious that any of it is really actually ABOUT HER though but when she does it hits her like a brick wall lmao

overall it’s actually a terrifying relationship for her because she’s at risk of losing everything but he just totally captures her heart 💕
