Question question~! You have done Artist Alley before? Do you have tips for anyone that is interested in doing it?
i’ve only ever done it twice at a small convention. i would suggest googling that sort of thing for most of what you’ll need to know.
i’ll give you a few tips on things i had trouble with though.
i get my prints done at office max. it took me forever to find the right place but i looked around and in my opinion that’s the best place to go for prints.
don’t yell or shout to get people’s attention. it’s seriously annoying, to potential customers (that you’re most likely driving away) and the artists around you.
when you’re doing AA alone you’ll be handling money, drawing people to your table, doing commissions, and trying to stay friendly and focused. even at a small convention this would be very hard for me to pull off on my own. i am not good with money or conversation. that’s why i suggest you take a friend with you for support and help. they handle the money and draw the customers to you while you do commissions and answer the more in-detail questions about the artwork.
bring food and drink. don’t forget to eat during the con. if you are susceptible to headaches or anything like that bring medication.
don’t bite off more than you can chew. this goes for your supply and how many commissions you take. even printing less than i think i need, i still end up with extra prints every year, and people are so much more willing to buy commissions than you think (i had no idea how popular they were).
hope that helps!
This was a painful process
this is super cute!!! ;//_//; thank you so much!
